The Circular Economy is about designing new business models to minimize the waste we put in this world. It focuses on moving from the traditional “take-make-dispose” economy of stuff, to one that is circular, where materials are continuously repurposed and kept in use for longer.
In partnership with Ellen McArthur Foundation, my team created the Circular Design Guide to bring attention to this important shift, and share practical methods to apply this approach for individuals and businesses alike.
The guide launched in Fall 2016, and is now being used by organizations such as Nike, H&M, and Google.
This initiative was a collaboration between IDEO’s London office and our Education Studio, which I help lead. I worked hand-in-hand with London studio to help the team prioritize the lens of the learner, leading the framework, strategy, and method design for the guide.
